You can get glibc here ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glibc, and a C compiler from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glibc
PHP sucks, use C!

he did it in Smalltalk. The format of the script names certainly support this (object.method).Comment

Ok, so you kinda shot my example down a little, I believe CC told me it was coded in C.
That notwithstanding, there are several internet/website backend products coded in C. Offhand, I can't think of any, but there has to be. LOL
Oh, and I'm forgetting now. What's OT programmed in?Comment

As for the starting comment here, you can't compare C and PHP as they are totally different, and serve different uses.

C is nice hoewever the practicalties of having to recompile your binaries each time you add functionalty is a pain- however it is an efficent way to do some thingsComment

open topic sucks!... I mean... java sucks
C:
Is not for 1970's computers, linux is made in C...
and it is not only for desktop use. It is much better to have an internet application wrote in C, just very difficult to write and set up.
Php Vs C
I like and use both, use the right tools for the right job. Only problem with php is that all passwords and domain name, server name and crap are viewable, where as in C they are compiled.
