No file uploaded and no local file found.

    Fresh install on 3.6.5.

Haven't changed anything else yet. But wanted to test the product upload.

I get the error "No file uploaded and no local file found."

I have set the uploads to safe mode and set the directory to CHMOD 777 as I don't have access to the php.ini file at present.

but I still get the error.

I have tried a test upload and get these results:

    file_uploads: On
    open_basedir: None
    safe_mode: Off
    upload_tmp_dir: c:\PHP\uploadtemp
    upload_max_filesize: 50.00 MB

No errors occurred while opening the uploaded file for reading. You should be able to turn off the "Upload In Safe Mode?" option without any adverse effects.

    Have I done something wrong?

Turn safe mode off. You don't need it. Then if you still have this problem it's probably because the c:\PHP\uploadtemp directory does not exist on this server or it is not world-readable and writable. You will need to contact your host about that.

I thought the safe mode option was a temporary work around?

Okey dokey, just seen that posted by other users who didn't have access to the php.ini file.

Never mind, I'll have to wait for the host.
