Have some forums content not show up in "new posts"

When a user click on "New Posts", it gives them a list of all the threads that are new or have had content added since their last login.

Since I added RSS Feeds in forums, these show up as well. Is their any way to exclude a forums contents from showing up in the "new posts" search? When I created the forum I have the "index in search engine" set to "no", but they still show up.

This simple plugin does just that. Substitute your forum id numbers as needed.

Without plugins, you would edit the New Posts link in your navbar and add these to the URL:

        &exclude=4,7,12,99

Can I get the text for the php code for this plugin so I can paste it? I'm having trouble making out some symbols in the photo and I don't want to f*ck it up.

          Thanks.

It would be easier to just edit the link in your navbar template.

            <td class="vbmenu_control"><a href="search.php?$session[sessionurl]do=getnew&exclude=12,17" accesskey="2">$vbphrase[new_posts_nav]</a></td>

I think it is easier to create a plugin so that you don't have to edit the template every time you upgrade.
