Avatars have not imported properly

I have FTP'd our phpBB2 avatars to the avatars folder, an have enabled avatars for the Registered Users usergroup, but how can I get everyone's avatars to show up again?

Will they all have to reload their avatars? That would be a major pain.

Are avatars stored in the file system by default in phpBB, or are they stored in the database?
You may have to move them into the database first.

You'd have to do that on phpBB's side probably, I don't know how you'd do that.

When you do the import ImpEx will get them if they are remote and if they are local it needs read access to the folder they are in.
