Fulltext MySQL search and Asian Language Code

These two seem not to go along very well. Asian typing displays fine on the forum but when a search is performed, mysql fulltext search could not find any. Vbulletin standard search, however, found some, but totally irrelevant.

Any thoughts would be highly appreciated!

You need MySQL 4.1.1+ to work with non Western character sets and the encoding of the tables needs to be set accordingly.

My PHP version is 5.0.5 already, and how do I do "encoding of the tables needs to be set accordingly"?

MySQL version needs to be 4.1.1+ not the PHP version.

You can change the encoding within phpMyAdmin to the appropriate encoding that matches the encoding you already use.

I see. My MySQL version is 4.0.25-standard...I'll try to contact the host admin see if they can help upgrading...
