    Alt codes

I've been having major problems with vBulletin forums for a while, and it appears that others have been having the same problems. At least in Firefox, attempting to type any alt characters into posts by holding down alt and pressing the numeric combination causes the forums to go back in history. Using other forum software, this seems to work fine. How do I make it work on my vBulletin?

Not sure what you mean. What are you doing and do you have the same problem on these forums?

Yes, I have the same problem on these forums. The problem is that when I'm trying to type a message, and attempt to for example type an é (Alt+0233), I can never finish typing out the alt code because as soon as I've pressed Alt+02, vBulletin appears to decide I want to go a few pages back in my browser history.

This is a Firefox issue that was introduced with Firefox 1.5.x and was not present in Firefox 1.0.x.

        See http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/bugs3...iew&bugid=2135 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=257478

What can I do about it, then? Where can I disable the accesskeys for the forums in the Admin CP? (I can't find the option for some reason.)

There is no way to "disable" access keys.

Then what can I do about it? Just tell everybody to adjust their Firefox settings? :/

EDIT: Went to about:config in my own Firefox and disabled the "Access key activates" thing, but it still makes it focus on the link so it's no use.

What you can do on the vBulletin end is remove the code for the access keys from the templates.
This is mainly in your navbar template.
                Best Regards
