import only users?

is there a way to im port only the users from SMF? A friend of mine is running a SMF board and would like his user accounts to be transferred to my vB board... can that be done somehow?

Yes, you can just run the user import module.

ok i uploaded the impex program, but when i click on import, i get a blank screen?

ok, the user module wont run unless the first modules are completed, will that do anything to my database with the current info? keep in mind my board has been up and running for some time now.

The first module just checks the database IIRC.

Running the 001 module for SMF will add the import ID's to the tables and will create a usergroup for the users to be imported to. 003 will import any other SMF usergroups you have and 004 will import the users themselves.

Note : Passwords arn't imported from SMF, so have a read of this .

ImpEx, never changes data in the target, unless its imported that that it put there and its removing it for a re-run, and it only ever reads source data.
