    Link-ID == false, connect failed

    Database error in vBulletin :

    Link-ID == false, connect failed
    mysql error:

    mysql error number: 0

    Upgraded the server, but still cannot get rid of this error.
    Need some suggestions.

    my.cnf file:
    [mysqld]
    skip-networking
    datadir=/var/lib/mysql
    socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
    set-variable = max_connections=250
    set-variable = table_cache=256
    set-variable = max_delayed_threads=5
    set-variable = max_tmp_tables=32
    set-variable = query_cache_type=1
    set-variable = query_cache_size=4M
    set-variable = interactive_timeout=15
    set-variable = wait_timeout=15
    set-variable = thread_cache_size=5

    Your wait_timeout is WAY To small.

    Try setting it to 1800 and see if it helps

    All of your settings look like they are for a very very small server..

      Same problem here too, only in the last few days, been receiving the same error numerous times. I very seldom have had this error in the past 2 years if at all.

      No changes to server or programs. Must be something trying to access the server/MYSQL? Worm? DOS?

        The default setting for wait_timeout is 28800. '15' is just plain ludicrous.

          do you recommend changing some other values as well ?

              Got it updated to 14400, I think mine was only set to 1000 or 1500? Seems to have worked.!! Thanks!
