I started out with a Canon EOS 300D when it first came out, and switched to the EOS 20D last November.

I also have the EOS 300D, its a good one to start with. I am waiting for the next upgrade cycle to upgrade it; although some other manufacturers are looking more and more competitive as well now (especially Nikon)

Kier, just got an email from that site; guess what - out of stock lol.

With the exception of the Nikon D70 vs the Canon 300D (which is now an invalid comparison, having had the 300D replaced by the 350D) I have to say that Canon beats Nikon in every price bracket, especially when you reach the Canon 1 series.

Not to get offtopic or anything, but you cannot go wrong with a Nikon D70. It is such a good camera...Just ask Josh, he had a play with it at E3 2005.

Although another good camera (slightly more expensive) is the Canon EOS 20D

Is your photography strickly personal or do you use it for business as well? Also, do you have a sample gallery I can check out some of your shots? I just got my new camera recently and am kind of kicking myself for not spending the extra cash to go SLR. I had a Powershot S1 and just upgraded to a Powershot S2. Great cameras, lots of optical, good features, and some beginner SLR functions, just not SLR reliability.

My photography is entirely non-commercial. I don't have a lot of stuff online, but here's a few shots from a wedding I attended...

I like the very simple album how horizontal/vertical are split. Is it dynamic based on image sizes? [my guess is yes, because the image numbers are in sync for horizontal/vertical]
