I honestly gave it a good try... and I thought it would've been a basic question but after a few empty searches I figured I may as well ask. Here goes:
Users have the ability to upload multiple file attachments. Now regarding pictures.... if user X uploads a picture as an attachment and user Y wants to "display" the image in a new post (linking from the "attached" file)... the result simply display the url instead of the actual photo.
For instance: http://redskin.us/forums/attachment....achmentid=5386
That was an image from a previous post. Is there *any* way to reuse the url within the forum?
I noticed that when it was linked to independently - outside of the site (ie. opened in a new broser window... I can view the image. But I can't seem to reuse the url within a new post. Is that built into the BB code? If we were to allow HTML tags would to resolve the problem? Because ideally, we'd like to continue to prohibit users from using HTML in posts.
Actually, just for the sake of argument I'm going to attach the link to this post as an image.. to see how it takes.
Another reason why it presents a problem is that... a single image can only be "attached" once. By any user. So it's not like users have the ability to save the original image and attach it to their own posts either.
I'm sure there's any easier solution to this.... but I haven't been able to figure it out for the life of me.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
