half of a RAQ3 enough for vBulletin

    Hi,
at the moment I try to figure out wheater a half of a raq3 with 128 is enough for me vB.
The big advantage is: a raq is much cheaper than a normal dedicated server solution.

    So what do you thing:
I should need 25 GB Traffic a month and the board should still run smoothly.
    Does the raq3 handle this?

    Ah, one thing I forgot:
I could share the raw with another guy who also has an vBulletin board but not more than about 10 people or so online at a moment.

Sounds like a raq3 with at least 128mb ram is the perfect hosting solution for a vBulletin.

But I also find another offer which is also a kind of dedicated hosting at http://tera-byte.com/vir.html.

      They offer:
      Transfer/month 50 GB for just Monthly price $69 !!!

What du you say to this offer ??

They mean you totally independant from other users on this server, meaning you have your recources and another side can't use your recources in any way ...

so it's like dedicated hosting, isn't it ?

you still are dependant on them! If they run busy scripts the server speed will still get lower and lower!

        you want a RaQ3? check www.internetexpress.com

49.95 US Dollar/month is a geat offering + you get 50 GB Traffic for free.

I am from germany, my ping to that server is at about 700ms, so that is no option for me, but perhaps it is better for you, if you are located in the USA. It seems like they colocate at level3, anyway the europe/germany download speed is at very poor 4kb/sec

If you are living in europe and looking for a cheap and fast host look for www.rackshack.net

they offer a RaQ4i with 256 MB RAM and 300 GB traffic for $99/month. the speed is also in germany pretty good (at about 20kb/sec) and the ping at 200ms.
