I don't know. The only way I can see a post ending up in there is if a poll is started but abandoned.

The only way a post/thread can appear in the moderation queue is if the visible tag is set to 0.

This happens:
a) When a thread with a poll is posted. The visible tag is 0 for the time between posting the thread, and posting the poll. So if the poll is never posted, the thread will not show
b) When you edit a thread and set the visible tag to 0
c) If the post/thread is awaiting moderation

I cannot see any other way that the visible tag could be set to 0. If a thread/post has ended up in the moderation queue, it will be one of the ways above (probably (a))

Thanks for your answer John, but i have two questions left. Why does this happens since version 2.2.0 and not earlier and why can my mods see posts awaiting moderation of a forum they do not have access to?

I am not sure why it happens in 2.2.0 - my guess is that is a conincidence.

As for your moderators, they should not be able to. Are you looking at a 'Super Moderator'?

Yes, the mod who told me about this, is a super moderator.

Why that? I can disallow a super moderator to get into a private forum and then he can see the posts in the Mod-CP, where they are awaiting validation? This is confusing me.

No, there is no way of changing this I am afraid. If you set up a super-moderator, then they have moderating access to all forums.

That is the purpose of Super Mods. If you want them to just have acces to specific forums make them regualr mods and give them access to whichever forums that you want.
