Infopop Eve 4.03 Converter

I was wondering about the status of the Eve Converter. Eve recently underwent a fairly extensive update. The new version is 4.03, is the current converter compatible with this version? Also, what components does the converter import.

I can't find a changelog at the moment at the Infopop site, but if there was no major database changes, you should have no problems importing.

However you should get the official word from Jerry.

What worries me is this ->

That would probably qualify as a big enough database change and could cause problems for the importer...

Has the schema actually be released yet ? I thought the announcement was out that they were going to change it, but haven't done it yet ?

I know my board underwent a major upgrade about a week ago. They too our board down for a number of hours to complete it. That was the upgrade that moved us to version 4.03.

I was under the impression they are now just working out the bugs in the new version.

Are you able to back up your Eve database installation? If you can, send Jerry a PM and tell him you have a database schema available for him to test with

I can do a backup but it will be too big to send to him. So I'll let him give me the good word when he's ready.

We have about 1900 members and 35,000 posts. I was actually involved with the first Eve convertor for 3.0, my board was used to develop the convertor but we unfortunately never ended up converting. Some issues developed with the script and it took Jerry a bit to get them sorted. Things were kinda crazy at that time as version 3 was just being released and Jerry was trying to get multiple importers completed.

Jerry probably vaguely remembers me I'm sure.

Anyhoo, I'm ready to switch if we can get it done this time.

That size database sounds like roughly ooo 10-25MB

But send him a PM and see what he wants to do
