Election of new federal assembly in Switzerland

Well, today, the new federal assemply was elected by the parliament. It's probably a very sad day for many people as the election resulted in drift to the far right. A guy similar to Berlusconi and Haider was elected together with his right hand...I'm not very happy with that. Switzerland goes more and moe to the offside with that...

Well, conservatives is actually to good for at least one of the new members...A quote by him:
If I would be foreign minister, I wouldn't travel as much as others do. If other ministers want to talk with me, they can come to Switzerland...
For this minister, the end of the world is outside the borders of Switzerland.

I'm from Switzerland, and I'm a little bit ashamed to say that, to be honest

Sad day, for sure, but one thing I'm happy with, is the fact that now, with this mofo (sorry..) elected, he won't be able to propose racist-laws like he has been able to when he was just in the opposition (=elected in his "state", but not country-wide).
There is a thing called "Universal Declaration of Human Rights" which will make him mad, hopefully...

I'm not in politics at all, but what I'm saying is what my brother just explained to me today, and he never lied to me
Syntax errors in my post ? Well, I'm a french-speaking Swiss user..

Yes, I wonder a little why nobody commented on this:

the election resulted in drift to the far right
So being conservative is worse that being on the far right - interesting.

Maybe because for some it's the same...Anywayr on Sunday the departments are distributed. Both new ministers actually want the finances. But maybe the worst of them gets the Justice and Police department or the Energy, traffic and communication dept. If the latter happens, the air traffic agreement with Germany will fail.

Thanks for the update, interesting indeed!

I forgot to mention, that women are the big loosers of this election. One woman was not re-elected (which is actually the first time since 130 years that a federal minister won't be re-elected) and the other wman lost against the "right hand". So we're back to middle-age here in Switzerland...

FYI: One of them got the Police and justice department (he's the biggest populist and was always supporter of initiatives against asylantes). The other one got the Financial Department. Hmm, I think not the worst case. Now they can prove whether they are good enough.
