Hi all,
This is a very similar situation as in another of my threads, that was resolved through a support ticket and the vBulletin Team fixed a bug in my user.php file... http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...threadid=48641
I don't allow anyone to sign themselves up to my board. I sign everyone up manually, through the admin CP. I use all the default settings, except I make the following changes for all users...
(1) Show email address = NO
(2) Show images = NO
(3) Remember username and password = NO
Note that I leave these alone...
(1) Receive mailings from admins = YES
(2) Browse boards with cookies = YES
I added a "test" username according to my method above. I immediately looked at the option settings for "test", through the admin CP. And all the settings were correct.
Then, I logged into the board as "test". I went to... User CP > Edit Options... and I simply clicked on the "submit" button.
Then, I logged back into the Admin CP and looked at the settings for "test". And there I saw the following...
(1) Receive mailings from admins = NO
(2) Browse boards with cookies = NO
Why is this happening?
How can I stop it from happening?
My vB info...
(1) vBulletin version = 2.2.6 upgraded from 2.2.5
(2) PHP version = 4.1.2
(3) MySQL version = Client API Version 3.23.45
(4) Apache version = 1.3.23
(5) Server OS = Unix
(6) No error message.
(7) No hacked files.
(8) I did change some templates, however.
If you need my phpinfo.php file or my board URL, let me know and I'll message it to you... for security, we don't post our URLs on other sites.
Thanks very much in advance!
