    Has anyone tried theses hosts?

Has anyone tried these hosts? Can anyone tell me about them? I'm looking at virtual private servers as an option. Or can anyone suggest a host if not these who offers such services?

Take aplus.net off your list. I have not heard of any of them but I went to aplus.net's page and they give you 500MB of space for 9.95 a month. Now, that wouldn't be so outrageous in and of itself (although it really is; more on that in a minute) but they also claim unlimited transfer. There is simply no such thing and any company who tells you this is simply lying - they have a number and you will be cut off at that number, kicking and screaming, but you will be. Whether they simply take your site offline, or completely remove you from the server, or just charge you $15 per GB overage differs between scummy hosts, but there is a hard limit but they won't tell you. For $10 a month I'd guess around 5GB to 7GB is their number. Who knows, though.

As to why 500MB is outrageous/ridiculous, think about this: If you have 450MB of stuff on your site, chances are someone's going to be looking at it. So if you are showing your 450MB of stuff and the equivelant of 10 people a day see all of it (meaning a bunch of people look at pieces of it, so combined, the equivelant of 10 people looked at all of it), that's 4500MB, or 4.5GB, of bandwidth, per day. Taking my educated guesstimate from earlier, you'd use your monthly allotment of bandwidth in 1.5 days, at best. 128GB of bandwidth later you hit the end of the month. Instead of the normal price of between $2 and $4 a GB (when you buy it upfront) you now owe between $5 and $25 a GB...Even at $5, that's $640 in overage charges. Your $10 account just cost you $650.

Thanks for the input. I did a search on Google and found that aplus.net was taken off of Better Business Bureau. So along with your input and that little fact. I won't be going with them. I'm probably not going to go with the other two either, but will be very soon signing up with Venturesonline. Thanks!

Amazing how when I say there are only 1 or 2 people who are not at VO of the dev/mod team, I am one of those two. As I said I have never heard of any of the hosts but the aplus.net one struck me as bad from the aspects I mentioned. I also did not mention VO, if you'll notice.

As to your post (which I did not delete, BTW, why would I delete it then post a followup to it which now makes no sense?) we have a rule against advertising here. It applies to licensed vB owners just as much as it applies to unlicensed people who register here to spam. You have it in your sig, people will visit if they want to.
