    [Suite] Trouble Installing

    Hello,
I'm trying to install the suite, but am getting a blank white screen when going to the install.php.

I currently have 3.8 installed at the following:
    sitename/ucforum

I created a new directory to install vb4 from scratch:
    sitename/UCForum

I've uploaded all the files to this new directory and pointed my browser to the install script per the instructions provided.

Am I able to do this? I plan on deleting the ucforum directory with the 3.8 install as soon as everything is working on the vb4 install.

    Please advise.

Do you meet the min sys requirements for vB4?

    Minimum:
    PHP: 5.2.0
    MySQL: 4.1.0
    Recommended
    PHP: 5.2.6 or newer
    MySQL: 5.0.19 or newer

You are seeing a white page because php errors have been disabled. Use htaccess to enable them temporarily: http://tinyurl.com/y9jcb4q

Your probably missing a file somewhere. Re-upload files again and see.

Check the permissions on the files for all the install/upgrade_400 series section. Mine were uploaded CMOD 664 which was throwing 500 Errors at me. Once I CMOD'ed the lot of them to 644, the install went thru fine. I found the error thru my cpanel log error file.
          install/upgrade_400a1.php" is writeable by group
Hope this helps because not all white pages are caused by a bad file upload. You have to read your log files sometimes.

              Folders 755 and files 644

              Those are default permissions.
