    Upgrade from forums to suite directory issue.

    Any word on the plan to solve moving things from directory to directory following an upgrade from forums to suite?

    I mean my site has everything in a directory in root called forum (unsurprisingly), but I'm going to want the cms in the root directory. I'm not fussed about having everything in the root directory (including the forum if needs be). What is the best way to acheive that?

    Right now the software is designed to run in one folder.

    You want to move your site to the root folder? Just upload the files to the root folder, run the upgrade. After the upgrade runs update the forum url in the vBulletin Options.

    Thanks, that's what I was wondering about, would that mean uploading and then going to root/upgrade.php? I expect root/ would start a clean install, yes?

    The thing people want to know Zach is, is it likely to stay that way or are people who are using the suite live best running it all out of the root?

    If all else fails, add to config.php: define("DISABLE_HOOKS", 1);

    Anyone got an answer to this yet? If I upload the vb4 suite files to root/ and want to use this to upgrade the vb3.8 in root/forum how do I do it?

    Run the upgrade like you have for every other version of vBulletin. vBulletin doesn't care where you put its files and folders, it will not be a clean install if you use the same database. All of vBulletins data, users/posts/threads/permissions/usergroups/categories/etc are all in the database. Your folder has nothing to do with it,.
