Installer Does Not Start - Fails

Hi I am reinstalling version 3.7.3. I have done the usual and created new database and put information into config.php.new and renamed config.php. When I start the installation at site.com/install/install.php I enter my customer number and the page just refreshes without starting the install. It is like nothing happens. I tested it a second website that I have and I have the same results.

My host has php5 installed, can that be problem for 3.7.3

Can anyone advise why the install fails?

That usually is the sign that you did not properly enter your license number.

If you did enter it correct, clear your browsers' cache.

I have the correct number installed. I cleared the cache and tried a different browser with the same result.

Sounds like your PHP files were not properly uploaded in ASCII format. I would re-upload the files, choosing overwrite, and making sure that they upload in ASCII format.

Had something to do with my expired license number. Even though I was only installing the last version my license entitiled my to it would not use the number. I upgraded to the 4.0 license and off it went.

Can't really say why but that what was happening.

It had nothing to do with your expired license number. There is no code in the vBulletin files to know or check our servers for that sort of thing.
