    3.7.1 to vB4

I'm on 3.7.1 and not well versed in installations or upgrades. Is there any need to upgrade to 3.8, or can I go directly to vB4 without any problem?

You should always try and be at the latest version for security reasons.

All the old upgrade files are still a part of vB4. In theory you can upgrade all the way from 3.0.0 Beta 3.

I might be misunderstanding this but. . .
We all would recommend the latest version, but you can't go from 3.7.1 to vB4 directly.
It will be 3.7.1 and everything in between to 3.8.4p1, then beta 1, everything in between to vB4.0 Gold.
If you are not comfortable with beta, wait until Gold.

I believe 3.5 or 3.6 is the cutoff for upgrading directly to 4.0.

    Zachery,
I have a very dumb question here, but I want to make sure i understand very clearly. One of my forums is currently a v3.7.1. Once VB4 goes gold, I can upgrade directly to 4.0 without taking steps to go through all of the versions in between?

You can just upload 4.0,. but the upgrade script will still run you though any versions you missed. Its how the upgrade system has worked always.
