    Ignore function

    Since this is the first time I've used the ignore function (on vB.com) or anywhere for that matter, I can still see that person's posts and replies. Do I need to do something else?

    You would see something like "This person is on your ignore list" instead of the actual post if they are actually on your ignore list.

    Nope. I confirmed the person is on the ignore list in my User CP but posts still appear.

    Then you have a modification that is causing this.

    To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version and that none show 'File does not contain expected contents':

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it.

    Do you have the same problem?

    While we're talking about the ignore feature let me ask a couple of questions..

    When you do the Tacky Goes to Coventry the posts don't show up at all, nice simple and clean.

    When you ignore a user, you still see they posted something, you just can't read it.

    How can I make the ignore feature work (no post at all) like Tacky Goes to Coventry?

    When someone is on ignore why would I want to see that they posted something? It would be great if the ignore feature truly ignored the user, posts and all.

    Empty the contents of your postbit_ignore template. Well there are several depending on what addons and features you have turned on.

    you'd be better release this as a HowTo for the product... like many times i've seen fixes discussed in public but not documented...
