    Moderated Posts

    Hello,

For some reason on some of my forums I don't see posts come through because they are set to be "moderated" however, I have the moderate posts setting turned off for these forums. I don't want to moderate posts to those forums so how do I set it up so that people can just post without moderation?

Also, how can I setup moderated forums so that it emails me when a post is waiting for moderation? Is this even possible?

    Thanks,

    Tommy

Check these moderation options for all forums and primary / secondary usergroups:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> Moderate Posts / Threads / Attachments

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> Follow Forum Moderation Rules

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Permissions -> [Edit] -> Follow Forum Moderation Rules

Infraction groups can also impose moderation by forcing the Follow Forum Moderation Rules permission to No.

You can enter your email into specific forums so you are notified of all new posts:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> Email Addresses to Notify When there is a New Post

    Hello,

For all of my user groups I have "Follow Forum Moderation Rules" set to YES. For all of my forums I have moderate posts, threads, and attachments all set to NO. And for some reason I still get things in the moderation queue. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Tommy

Those are all of the ways that moderation can be enabled.

It is also possible for admins and mods to manually edit a thread and put it into the moderation queue. Or maybe those are old threads from before moderation was disabled.

Hmm...nope. Still not working correctly. I just had a user post to a thread yesterday and I just now noticed it in the moderation queue. I had no idea that it was there waiting. This is the same user who was placed into the moderation queue that made me start this thread earlier. I checked everything that you mentioned and it all looks like it's configured correctly so I'm assuming this is a bug in the application. This all started after I upgrade from 3.6.4 to 3.6.9.

Any other ideas? Other users seem to be posting OK without moderation except for one other user that I know of is having the same issue.

I don't know what else could be causing this unless there is a customization that is causing problems. Try disabling your plugins:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Plugin/Hook System

Also run a file check to look for customized files:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    Hello,

I do not have any plugins installed and verified that the plugin / hook system is disabled. I also checked suspect file versions and it didn't come up with anything.

Today I found other threads in the moderation queue that shouldn't be there so the issue continues to occur. Is it support ticket time?

If you've no modifications, add-ons or suspect files being shown, then yes, I'd suggest raising a ticket for this.

I just submitted a support ticket. By the way - I still can't figure out how to get the system to email me when a post ends up in the moderation queue. I have to manually check the queue to see if a message is waiting. I have all forums set to email me when somebody posts, which it does, however it does not email me until I found the moderated post and then authorize it, which by then doesn't make any sense for me to get the email since I already found the post and authorized it.

There is no email option for moderated posts or threads.
