    License URL

    Hi,

have just purchsed a license but before downloading, please can someone explain exactly what I need to put in the license URL

I am intending to install vB on a server which has a primary domain name of domain1.net BUT on another server I run my website domain2.com so I was intending to either use forum.domain2.com (OR domain2.com/forum which may be better from a SEO point of view as my web site ranks fairly well) & then redirect this to domain.net/forum.

So do I have to be very precise now about what URL I intend to use?

    Thanks.

the primary url is the simpliest thing... this is not intended to block your second url, but to identicate the main url.

as the other urls are for redirecting, they are not "officials"

the goal for this is not to advertise your site somewhere but to check if that site is licensed only...

Thank you but as I only tend to use domain1.net to test it as when it is live it will be viewed as being part of domain2.com (but just sited on a different physical server), can I put domain2.com in but use access it at domain1.net/forum to test it.

The key thing is does the software check for this or is it just to help them manually check for misuse of license? - which I have no intention of doing.

    Thanks

there is no official site check (call home) so if your intend is to have the forum in one place but testing it on another location, just put the official ending url... or change it when you switch...

I (believe) that you can have a test board setup as /testvb/ (passworded) that only you use for testing even after setting up your 'proper' site.

    Licensed URL :
    http://domain1.com or http://domain1.com/yourforum

You can run in the same time for test purposes only:
    http://domain1.com/testvb

    It may not be
    http://domain2.com/testvb

Thank you. Knowing about test forum helps as I've been playing about with templates etc. which is fine before it goes live but afterwards I'll create a test version for to try out any future style stuff.
