403 Forbidden error on some AdminCP files

When doing some initial setup work on a new board today, some of the pages within AdminCP were returning "You don't have permission to access..." messages when trying to save settings!

Bizarrely, on the vBulletin Options page, if I tried to do the whole lot in one go, I got the error but when I did each section individually, it worked fine!

Now having a problem with /admincp/user.php when trying to update a user's permissions.

I've tried re-uploading the affected files and permissions are set at 644....

Anyone have an idea what could be causing this?
