    basic upgrade question

Hi, this is my 1st upgrade and i have no clue what im doing!

    Im running 3.64
    I downloaded the 3.67 package
I unzipped it on my pc
I used smartftp to upload it to my server where my forum lives

My forum is in a directory called "forum"

When i uploaded the new files the root files for "forum" went into the "forum" directory and overwrote the old ones, but all the subdirectories such as "images", "install" , "admincp"...... all went directly under www and not under forum.

So what i have now is a forum directory with the old subdirectories in it but new files in its root.

When i try to drag the new subdirectories under forum, it tells me i cant as the ones in there are not empty.

Can i just delete all the old subdirectories under "forum" and drag the new ones out of "www" and into "forum" or are there additional files in my old subdirectories not included in the upgrade package that i need to keep.

Only mods i have done to the forum is to change the header and to add the who was on today plugin.

The problem with moving files are permission issues on your server. You should contact your hosting provider. The permissions on those folders should be 644 for your user.

Changing permissions on the forum directory/subdirectories to 644 as you said has brought down my entire site. It now says "forbidden" when i try to view the site and it wont allow me to change it back.

The upgrade does contain security fixes, so you should try again.
