Has anyone created a set of UBB templates that they'd be willing to share ? ie templates which, when in use, will be almost identical to UBB. I want to roll out our new forum without the users even knowing that we have switched software and then, slowly, customise the appearance to the benfit of our users...

No I have not done that, I have replicated my modified version of the UBB.

It is probably harder than it sounds to replicate Teds poor poor html skills (or whoever coded the UBB)

    I kinda did...

I've modified my templates to look as much like the UBB as possible. I'm almost done; err, I've almost gotten it to where I want it.

    Yep

PHP is much different that CGI is, CGI is more complex, but easier, IMO, even with more code.

BTW, Ted doesnt have poor HTML skills.

if the way he coded the layout parts of the UBB files is any indication, he sure does have crappy HTML skills.

Personally I dont think his html is all that bad......

You have to understand that when scripting, your html gets weird cause you have to ouput it in chnuks. Either way I think Ted's html skills had very little to do with people switching to vb. Now the overall appearance of the code was a bit out there but the html I beleive was more than ok

Oh and whats up with all this <smallfont></smallfont> crap in the vb????

noone said they swithced due to Teds bad HTML, we were just pointing it out. I myself spent ALOT of time fixing all of the HTML in every single file, and it wasn't fun.
