User Listing & Profile Viewing > Show Last Post on Profile Page
Where is this supposed to show? On the page when you click on username?
I have tried this setting and see no changes anywhere.

yepp, there you can see it (small though)
Thanks utw-mephisto! Couldn't see the forest for the trees, or maybe time to get new glasses
I was expecting to see an actual excerpt of the post.
Now to decide whether to have it showing (small site) and when to know when/if it should be turned off.
User Listing & Profile Viewing > Show Last Post on Profile Page
Showing the last post on a member profile can cause large table scans which leads to table locking. This may increase load time on your forums as well as the load of your server. This option should only be enabled for smaller forums
I'm guessing this would only happen if one has a lot of viewers clicking on the username profiles at the same time (?)
I think the problem is not when a lot of people viewing the profile but when you have a lot of member. I think the last post of each member will be put in the profile regardless if someone views the profile or not .. At least it would make sense because this would def. increase the load on the server. Imagine every time someone makes a post, his profile will be updated. Now image 10 member make a post at the same time and 10 profiles will be update instantly .. at least this is my understanding of all this ..
Thanks for explaining this!
Yes, that is quite different to the number of times a viewer is clicking on a username profile.
My site is not a high volume of postings, though readership is much more active, so I think I should be okay to use it.
