AJAX, Thread_title Editing issue with Safari

Just discovered a curious issue with AJAX when being used with Safari. All seems to be working fine, except for a scrolling issue.

Double-Clicking on a thread title (white space) that is at the bottom of a page that has been scrolled down to, causes the page to scroll back to the top. The result is that the thread title in question is now editable but has been scrolled back down and out of view.

    Default templates and styles, VB3.5.1.

    Firefox works as expected.

    Update ::

Its seems to be intermittent, and I am unable to discover the cause of it appearing and disappearing.

I'm also getting this problem. Happens everytime.
It was OK in beta 3. It's just since 3.5.0 that the problem started.

    1. While displaying a thread list (forumdisplay.php)
    2. Scroll down the page using the browser scrollbar so that some of the page rolls out of view.
    3. Double click to edit a thread title.
The thread is switched to edit mode correctly, but the browser will instantly scroll the display back to the top (just as if you'd clicked on a 'Go To Top' anchor link.

Obviously the key action is number 2. Without that, you won't notice any problem. You'll need to make sure the thread listing has enough threads to necessitate scrolling.

    Zach,

I have just discovered that this is also happening now in Omniweb.

I have done a lot of testing of this today and simply cannot find the cause. But i have also found that the a similar behaviour occurs when using the "Edit" button. The post turns to a TextArea but is scrolled to the top of the screen - quite disorienting.

    Hello Zachery,

Has this issue progressed any further? Its quite an issue for all users on OS X as Safari has a large user base.

    Thanks,

    tdc

I must have missed this thread, and I apologize.

I'm going to submit this as a bug as it happened for me right off the bat.
