Solid Colors vs Images as Backgrounds

Hello. I just got my vBulletin 2 days ago and I've made quite a few alterations. I've run into a bit of a problem, however. I went through and added background="" tags to virtually every table in my forums. The problem is, the backgrounds aren't loading properly for some reason. When the page first loads, it shows up as a solid color. The images *are* there, as when you minimize and restore the window, they all appear.

I'm assuming this is a bug with Internet Explorer, but I've never seen it on anything but message boards. (UBB also had this problem) Any suggestions or explainations would be appreciated.

Apart from your post layout being slightly confused the backgrounds and everything work just fine - tested Netscape and IE5
