Ban user without the title

I recently suspended a user for two weeks. This was meant to be a secretive action from the members at large. However VB changed the member title from Senior Member to Banned, which I didn't notice so everyone knew and it caused a great deal of trouble.

Now things have escalated because of threats and I want to permanantly ban that user. I want to have the user title say Resigned rather than Banned. How do I do this ? I was thinking of creating a new Resigned user group that has no posting privliges.

I just changed the default title for Banned to "Membership Revoked" (AdminCP, Usergroup manager). Worked for me.
