You will need to switch your image processing library to GD and will not be able to use Imagemagick.

vBulletin Options -> vBulletin Options -> Image Settings.

It means exactly what it says : The function exec() has been disabled.

You would need to remove the function from the disabled functions list (in php.ini).

well...i ask because normally vbulletin does not need exec() enabled, and it is a pretty notable security risk to tag on casually id rather not do that...

but why does it need exec() enabled for an image types library?

it seems odd to me.... like imagemagick needs to use php exec()? for what?

probably best to ask on Imagemagick's own forums as to why they're code needs that...

                thank you to reply...
i could....im partially just curious if this is actually the situation the way it appears in this topic....that its not possible to use imagemagick without exec() enabled...
like that is across the board fact for every server with vb?
if thats true, im surprised it is even an option in the admincp...

to me that seems surprising, so it leads me to wonder what odd setting might trigger that error or why, whats up etc...

i could also note, that i was using imagemagick without any issues for years on vb5, so this is semi recent for me to see....there were other issues with imagemagick a year or so ago, but ive only just now tried it again only to see this strange error...
