    Drop down navigation menus

    Hi,

OK, here is my situation. I'd like to be able to implement a drop down menu navigation script of some sort which is relative to the position of the buttons. (see attached image for a rough sketch.)

However, all the scripts I have looked at require positioning which is x,y from the top left hand corner. if I was to use this and get it correctly positioned when, lets say, viewing at 800 * 600, it would be offset when someone else views at 1024 * 768. Not good.

I'd like to use DHTML of some sort, as the drop down menu layers would float on top of the rest of the page. I could use flash or similar (yuck) but that would require an area the size of the maximum menu length, which again isn't feasible.

Do any of you use such JS/DHTML scripts, or have you come across them? Any pointers, help or suggestions very much appreciated.
