does not seem to make much sense that the developers of vB have to pay for a license.

They already ''contacted'' me if you ''leave'' since i'm so ''godly''

But seriously, devs do much more then you weird mod's

Plus, if they don't get a board for free, they leave and make their own!

Like matt did of ikon board, now invision board

I'm confused. Is this not the only bulletin board out there that actually charges to have your own board? I am wondering why this is?

No it isn't, there are more boards for wich you have to pay . Like UBB. But most of the time you pay for the running of the site, the support you get, and for the source...

I bought both my licences before I was on the team, although since then the expiry date on both of them has magically become sometime in 2020

Yeah...mods are appreciated and so are the Devs! I don't think they help/work on vB for a free license...

I see where you're coming from, but you can get other boards that are just as functional, have the same requirements, and have some of the same skins as vB. I am wondering why they still charge when there are other boards that work just as well with the same features, but they are free. Obviously one would expect to pay for the hosting, etc...

Free boards may work well for small communities, but if you start building up multi thousands, you'll be glad when you have vB behind j00r arse. ^_~
