    Well, to your first question - that feature is a matter of how they choose to Subscribe to a Thread. The default method of Subscription is something that Users set in their UserCP Options.

    However, you can pre-set the default for all New Users in the AdminCP/Options/User Registration Options (It's all the way on the bottom).

    As to removing the message text from the notification emails, edit the Notify Phrase (Email Body Text Phrases), and remove the following section:

    Code:

    Here is the message that has just been posted:
    ***************
    $pagetext
    ***************
    echo $ocean_signature;

        Under User Registration Options, go all the way to the bottom. The fourth item from the bottom is Automatic Thread Subscription Mode. The options for that item are the following:

        Do Not Subscribe
        Subscribe with no notification
        Instant email notification
        Daily email notification
        Weekly email notification

        If you don't want your users to get the notification emails, you would want to choose one of the first two for their default. Note that this will affect all New Users' default options. It will not change existing users' options, nor will it prevent them from changing this, if they should so desire to.

        Hope that helps!
