Invalid URL Error Message
Error when linking avatars from a URL

This is a new install of version 3.7.1

I cannot link an avatar from a URL. I have tried several different images to test this and no matter what I do, when I attempt to link to an image with a URL, the process fails with the message "Invalid URL."

I have tried creating a tmp directory, chmoding to 777 and changing the safe mode settings in vB, but the problem persists. I ran Suspect File Version and it reported "cpnav_impex.xml File not recognized as part of vBulletin." All other files check out OK. I have another vB (ver 3.6.8) running on this same server with no problems, so this seems to be an issue with the new release.

Steve Machol has already investigated this issue [SID-811519-e6df03a8] and could find nothing that would be causing it.
This issue is closed. No more replies may be made.

This happens when you are using PHP 4, I've attached a patch to this bug which you can use.

You remove the parts in red and add the parts in green.

This patch fixed it and thank you very much for not mentioning this serious issue anywhere and letting me and many others think registrations are working as usual while really for a long time no one could register when recaptcha verification was on. This is my worst disappointment with vB yet.
Don't you think you should make this an official patch and notify about it?

Try to upgrade to 3.7.2 or try a new file from 3.7.2 archive first...
