    vBulletin 3.8.8 ALPHA 1

PHP 5.4 Support for vBulletin 3

We have received a number of customer requests to ensure that vBulletin runs on PHP 5.4. We have also been in communication with several hosting providers. Based on this feedback, we are working on PHP 5.4 compatibility for vBulletin 3 and vBulletin 4. vBulletin 5 Connect is already PHP 5.4 compatible.

To this end, we are pleased to announce the release of vBulletin 3.8.8 ALPHA 1 to vBulletin customers with active licenses. vBulletin 3.8.8 ALPHA 1 is an early evaluation release that has received no official QA testing. It is not recommended for use on Production sites, and will not be supported if installed. However, we have released an advance copy for those customers with a critical need to upgrade immediately.

vBulletin 3.8.8 ALPHA 1 is now available for download and evaluation in the vBulletin.com Members area – http://members.vbulletin.com

A final version of vBulletin 3.8.8 will be released once it has been tested and certified for use on Production sites.

Please note that, as always, this upgrade is only available to sites with current (active) vBulletin licenses. Customers can obtain this download in their members area, and discussion regarding the upgrade may be viewed here : http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum...a-1-discussion

If you encounter any bugs related to PHP 5.4 in vBulletin 3.8.8 ALPHA 1, please log them in the vB3 Jira Project : http://tracker.vbulletin.com/secure/...ject+%3D+VBIII

Any bugs reported will be looked at with a view to releasing a Beta near the start of May.
Note: Only bugs related to PHP 5.4 compatibility will be reviewed, since vBulletin 3 has been end-of-lifed for several years.

    vB3 Blogs

If you have the vB3 blogs add-on, there is also a Blogs 2.0.5 ALPHA 1 available for PHP 5.4 compatibility only. Again, alpha releases are not recommended for use on Production sites.

Note: Please log any Blogs 2.0.5 ALPHA 1 bugs in the vB3 Jira project, not the separate Blogs project.
