Automatic upgrade from 5.0.4 to 5.0.5?

Isn't there any auto upgrade system in vBulletin 5+
I am currently running 5.0.4 and it was setup after a lot of time and hassle. Once setup, I do not want to touch it again as I am afraid if something goes wrong, I will have to spend more time in resolving it rather than persist with the bugs and errors in 5.0.4.

Can anyone guide me here ?

No, there is no auto-upgrade in vB5 (although the upgrade runs automatically once it has beed initialized ).

You definetly should upgrade to the latest version, since many bugs were fixed in vB 5.0.5 (and even more will be in the upcoming vB 5.1.0). Did you follow the upgrade instructions in the manual? Upgrading shouldn't be a huge thing: Upload all files, run the upgrade script, enter you customer number, delete the install folder. Done.

I am afraid of upgrading and losing out all the information. Do you have a demo video of how to upgrade ?
Also, I've seen cases where people have messed up with their forums. There are tons of bugs in VB 5.0.4 but I can live with them (even though miserably) rather than completely messing up.

I think auto upgrade is something which should be very basic for every web based software, uploading a script and installing it feels really vulnerable, very very high chances of goofing up.

Last question, Google is not indexing any pages from vbulletin why is that so ?

Customers on our new vBulletin Cloud solution get upgrades done automatically.
We have no plans to implement any form of auto upgrade on the main product though.

A guide to upgrading is here:

vBulletin gets indexed by Google just fine, however it doesn't happen instantly and you need to wait until their spiders find you.

Finally, you should upgrade to 5.1.0, not 5.0.5.

We don't normally provide any refund once the software has been downloaded, however you may want to send a ticket in regarding this.
