    Site builder greyed out

I searched and found a couple of topics regarding this issue but they pertained to upgrades.

This is a new installation of vb 5.2.0.

After installation, everything seems to work as expected except for the site builder section at the top of every page is greyed out. I can see it but I can't turn it on or off so it's not usable.

I've tried clearing cookies/temp files, using an incognito window, using a different admin account, using an entirely different pc, etc. with no luck. The problem appears to be on the server side.

Has anyone else had this issue after a fresh new installation? Any tips on what I should look at next in order to get it operational?

    Thanks!

Please upgrade to 5.2.2 in the first instance, as that is the current version.

Ok I'll give that another shot. I actually downloaded 5.2.2 and installed it unsuccessfully about 10 times. I've never had an issue installing vbulletin until 5.2.2. 5.2.0 worked perfectly before so I decided to give that a shot after having trouble with 5.2.2. 5.2.0 installed perfectly this time just like I'm used to... except site builder doesn't work.

I'll give 5.2.2 another shot. Maybe the upgrade route will work better for me than the clean installation...

If you've literally a blank forum with no content then a clean install of 5.2.2 is better.

It's important to note that the incremental versions are not options you can pick from....5.2.0 will have bugs and security issues that have been resolved in 5.2.2, so sticking with 5.2.0 means you live with those bugs and security issues. The support we can give to superceded versions is very often limited to 'you need to upgrade'.

I tried a clean install of 5.2.2 multiple times. I kept getting errors after the installation. I've installed vb about 100 times before and never had any issues like this. So, I installed 5.2.0 because I couldn't get 5.2.2 to install without errors. 5.2.0 installed and works fine except site builder doesn't work. The forum is empty right now but the clean install of 5.2.2 just would not work for me. I don't really want to trash what I have but I will if I know for sure that 5.2.2 will install without errors. I spent several days installing and reinstalling 5.2.2 to no avail. Tried 5.2.0 for the hell of it (and to make sure I wasn't going crazy) and it installed fine the first time...

Upgraded to 5.2.2. Problem still exists. Logged into admincp and granted the second administrator account full access to everything. Using the second admin account that I created, I can now access site builder. The #1 admin account just continuously refreshes the page when logged in with it. Something is jacked up with the original administrator account.

Oh well, I'm working now. I hate that the #1 admin account is screwed up but I'll work on figuring that out later.

            Thanks for your help, Mark.B!

We would need to know what the errors are.

if the page is refreshing, make sure Automatic DST detection is OFF for that account.

Turned automatic DST detection off for the #1 admin account and the issue is resolved. Site builder now works under both admin accounts and it's no longer "continuously refreshing." Thanks Mark.B!

As for the errors, I can't remember exactly what they were. There were at least 3 and they changed with each installation. Sometimes all 3 errors were there and I could eliminate 2 of the 3 by replacing the files noted in the errors but never could get the board functional.

It's working now so I'm just going to let it run. I'd have to do another installation of 5.2.2 to recreate the errors but I feel like this installation is solid so I'm not going to reinstall it. It's working great and that's all that matters to me.

Thanks again for your help. I sincerely appreciate it!
