I recently upgraded from 3.8.8 to 5.1.7. I opted to pay for the professional install to save on the headaches, and the fact that I am not a network engineer. I must admit that I was still nervous about the upgrade, based solely on the feedback I was reading on this forum. There has been a fair amount of negative feedback regarding vB 5. I can tell you that I am very pleased with the software, and its operation. The server environment is key, and having the software requirements met for your version of vB. If you are considering upgrading to the vB5 platform, take your time and address the requirements first, this includes making sure your host can/will meet your needs and the software. The $149.00 professional install fee is money well spent.
