[Forum] 404 Not Found error on forums

    Hello,

I have vBulletin 4.1.7 PL6 installed along with vBSEO 3.6.0. Of late I see this error shown below in the attachment when I visit the forums. This error comes up only when visiting forum links. There is no error on home page or when I visit the threads.

    Not Found

The requested URL /css/stat.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
    Apache/2 Server at www.markaara.com Port 80

    What could be wrong?

Quick help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

That is an old version, does your license permit you to upgrade to 4.2.2 PL4?

VBSEO is no longer supported either and no longer secure, better to remove or replace with DBSEO

I know this is older version. But I never had this problem until few days back? Why would this error pop up all of sudden? I haven't installed any plugins or hacks lately.

Yes but you will be lucky to get much support with two outdated and potentially security flawed versions of software.

A 404 means the file was not found on the server. You could try running the suspect file tool under maintenance to see if all VB files are present and correct.

I have the same error, did not receive a response to the message I sent to support weeks ago, and my version of vBulletin is at 4.2.2 PL4.

Can we receive a little more information on the cause of this error?

This is what I was told by support:

              ---------------------
/css/stat.php is not a default vBulletin file so this must be from some type of add-on or plugin.

Disable Hooks as explained in the link below and see if the problem goes away. If it does then you can re-enable hooks but disable plugins/products from the Admin CP until you find the one with the problem.

Also make sure your PHP version is 5.4.x or 5.3.x. VB 4.2.2 is not compatible with PHP 5.5.x or higher. You would need to upgrade to VB 4.2.3 Beta if you are running PHP 5.5.x or higher.

              Disable Hooks: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-3-8/vbulletin-3-8-questions-problems-and-troubleshooting/vbulletin-quick-tips-and-customizations/201532-disable-the-plugin-hook-system-globally
              ---------------------

              - Disabled hooks makes NO difference
              - Already using the proper PHP version
              - All plugins globally disabled -- makes no difference

I just went into the settings and disabled hooks and plugins and I still got the same problem. When I google this hundreds of other vbulletin boards come up with the same thing on their forum. I have a feeling it may have something to do with the vbSEO that I had installed before. I uninstalled it and everything but I am still getting this error some how? I know this error only happens when you click on the forums.

Make sure you have removed the vBSEO .htaccess file.

There was a few vbseo files left and I just deleted them as well as the .htaccess file. However, now SOME of the forums I click on I get the following error. I get this error only when the forum is still trying to bring me to the old vbseo urls forums/introductions instead going the new one. Not all of the forums do this though, only a few of them. Even with all of this done I am still getting the same css/stat.php error though on top of any forum I click to get to.

Are yiou sure the .htaccess file is deleted? As opposed to just not being visible? On some setups it doesn't show up, even though it is there.

A simple fix for this is to create a completely blank file, call it .htaccess, and upload it...it'll overwrite anything that's there.

Unless there is another somewhere I am not aware of. I removed the one in the main forums folder. I opened a copy on my mac and it did have vbseo code in it so I assumed that had to of been the one.
