  • [Forum] Invalid Redirect URL After Upgrade

    #1
So I just upgraded my VBulletin forum and now I am getting this VBulletin message after login...

    Invalid Redirect URL (http://website.com/)

    Any ideas?

What's the URL? Are you running any add-ons?

The URL in the error is correct. When I copy and paste it I go to the forum homepage logged in. Just not sure why I get this message now.

        Invalid Redirect URL (http://azfullthrottle.com/)

I am running a few addons but they have not changed in the last few monthes, only the version of VBulletin. Things like a store and minor post addons.

Your Forum URL setting is using: www.azfullthrottle.com

You need to set the correct forum URL here:

Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Forum URL

That seems to have done the trick. Thank you very much!

Same/similar issue. If a user goes to http://www.hummer4x4offroad.com they get a login screen and after logging in they get the message: Invalid Redirect URL (http://hummer4x4offroad.com/forum/)

Under Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Forum URL I have http://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/forum and when I go straight to that URL the forum appears correctly and I am logged in.

I also have http://www.hummer4x4offroad.com/forum as my Home Page url

                  What setting am I missing?

I don't run 4, but I saw the same issue after upgrading to the newest 3.8.x patch.

                    1. Under vBulletin Options : Site Name/URL/Contact Details, set the forum URL to what it says when you get an Invalid Redirect URL error.
                    2. You should have a box for "Redirect Domain Whitelist." If your Forum URL is http://example.com, put http://www.example.com in your Whitelist. If your Forum URL was http://www.example.com, put http://example.com in your Whitelist. Hit save and logout.
                    3. Clear your cookies and try logging in again.

                      My site is is redliners.ca

In admincp site url options my forum url is listed as http://redliners.ca/forums

                      In my whitelist I have:

                      http://www.redliners.ca/forums
                      http://www.redliners.ca/forums/forum.php

                      http://redliners.ca/forums
                      .redliners.ca

If I try to login from redliners.ca/forums it's fine.
If I try to login from www/redliners.ca/forums I get this error:

having http://redlienrs.ca as the site url and http://www.redliners.ca in the whitelist seems to have fixed the problem though when you login under www.redliners.ca it accepts it but still says your logged out. If you click any link it will then show you are logged in.

You can set your cookie domain to '.redlienrs.ca' or use a 301 redirect to one URL or the other.

I experienced the same problem after upgrading to vb3.8.7
But my site url and post referrer whitelist were correct. I fixed it by adding both my http as my http location to the redirect domain whitelist.
