    How do I upgrade?

I am ready to upgrade to the latest security patch, how do I do this?

--> I have downloaded the patch from the client area

--> I log into AdminCP and click run upgrade script but i get a 404 error

You have to upload the files to your server via FTP overwiting the current files.

If it is just the patch ie no "install" folder, you don't need to run the upgrade script.

Need to be clear on what you're trying to do.

What version are you currently running, and what version are you wanting to upgrade to?

        I think it's as I thought. Donald1234 pretty much confirmed it. I am running 4.2.2 pl1. Going to pl2

My biggest worry is that I have some modified php code in the templates and I don't want them replaced. But it seems the patch does not contain any template files.

To go from 4.2.2 Pl1 to 4.2.2 PL2, youi only need the patch files.
Templates don't have files, they are entries in the database so no patch or upgrade will ever overwrite them.

On a full upgrade you would possibly have templates to revert, but that's not an issue here and probably won't be now with vB4.
