    Here's the full spiel:

    1. Check the overall Usergroup settings for the relevant usergroups and make sure moderation is turned off:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager -> Edit Usergroup -> Follow Forum Moderation Rules -> Yes

    2. Check the individual forum settings to make sure moderation is turned off:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> Moderate Posts and Moderate Threads -> No

    3. Check ALL the usergroup permissions for that forum (Forum Permissions). One of the usergroups they are in has Follow Forum Moderation Rules set to 'No'. This needs to be set to 'Yes'.

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Permissions -> Follow Forum Moderation Rules

    4. Make sure the Primary usergroup has 'Allow Users to have Member Groups ' set to 'Yes'. Otherwise secondary permissions are not considered.

    5. If you have the Akismet setting turned on, it could be automatically moderating some posts:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Spam Management -> vBulletin Anti-Spam Key Powered by Akismet

If these permissions are all set correctly and you still have this problem, then it is from a modification you made.

Old thread, but current issue I am having.

I followed all of the above steps and we are using Askimet on some new forum.

New posts are held in moderation and I don't like it.
How to make this work with Askimet enabled.

If the post gets flagged by akismet there is no way to make it not be moderated. You either deal with some posts being moderated, or you disable the system.

ahhh ok... so only flagged new posts will be in moderation? I guess my test new post as a new test forum member was identified as spam and that is what caused it.

Did you come here to rant or for support? If you are looking for help, you should make your own thread and include as many details as possible relating to your problem. It's hard to provide support when you have no information.

I posted here because this was the exact problem I am having and basically explained it better than in my thread. As far as the rant...I paid a lot of good money for forums and to have them installed, too. All I ask is that they freaking work like they are supposed to work. It is very frustrating when you pay for something and then it isn't working the way it is supposed to work. It reminds me of the guy who bought insurance and when the person who just bought a policy went to ask another question and ran to the door to stop the agent, and all he saw was sand pile.

Yes, I followed the steps listed above. It looks like there would just be "one" place to set whether something is moderated or not and then turn it off.
