  • what is ImpEx?

    hey,

sorry, i couldn't find the relevant category to post this so this is the only place where i decided to post it.
It's a simple question, what is Impex?
in the members area, it shows you what you can download, Vbulletin or/and Impex.
Any help on this topic would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Lewis

The ImpEx (Import / Export) system is the core system for importing from other forum software into vBulletin version 3.0.1 or higher.

ImpEx is a cool name imo. A site already exists for impex.com.

              Dumb ImpEx question:

A couple of years ago, my vBulletin database became corrupted. Because I was out of town, I couodn't restore anyof the backups I kept at home; I could only create a new message board with a free version of Invision Board that the osting company provided. The Invision Board site was active for about a week, until I could restore the vBulletin site.

Could I merge those old Invision Board messages into the existing vBulletin database with ImpEx?

                  Outstanding.

It was Invision Power Board v1.1.2. Old, I know. There's also a stray board running 1.3.
