attachments thumbnails

hi.
I've imported my board phpBB 2 to vB 3.8.4.
During I've installing vB forum I've created new user (nick: XXX).
I've imported all attachments. All is ok, but only XXX user can see images-attachments thumbnails. I've run 'rebuild attachments thumbnails' but it still does not work.
How to fix it? I want to all users can see attachments thumbnails (images).

404 Error Code When Selecting Import

I've just uploaded all of the ImpEx files to my server and the option to import is now available on my admin control panel in vBulletin. When I click Import-->Import, I get a 404 Page Not Found error code. It's weird because I am getting the error code from my host. I am trying to import phpBB3 to vBulletin 3.8.4 Patch 1. The vBulletin board is new so I'm guessing that it would be considered a Clean Import. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Uploading Data Base

I was looking for a couple of question to be answered about uploading a database from one vbulletin to another.

I have exported the database from an old board and don't know how to upload it to the new one and if I did upload it could I just upload the user names and information for each user?

What type of information is upload when I do upload the database? Is there anyway to stop any unwanted information from uploading?

no menu to select source - defaults to eve?

I have been trying to use impex to merge two vb 3.8.1 databases together, but never get that far. When I run the impex code stand-alone, www.mydomain.com/impex/index.php , OR in the vbulletin directory, www.mydomain.com/forums/impex/index.php, I do not get a menu of "source" options as shown in the HOWTO guide, so I cannot pick the source database type or the target database type. The first page displayed is the one where each module is run, and the Import / Export database appears to be "eve". Of course, my databases are vbulletin and have nothing to do with eve. I have downloaded ImpEx several times and installed fresh just to make sure that none of the code was corrupted. I have also confirmed that the ONLY file changed is the ImpExConfig.php file (see below).

For ease of install, I installed ALL system modules. When all of the modules are there, I at least get the menu options to run the modules, but it is defaulted to eve (see impexpic.gif).Attachment 38276 If I take the advice in the HOWTO guide, and keep only the system module that I'll be using (VB3), then I get a run-time error:

Well, of course EVE is not there, because I deleted it. But WHY is it looking for EVE in the first place?

Here's the system info. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Impex - V 1.93. Installed with all modules in the root directory. (also tried in admincp with no difference).

Running Mysql 5.0.67, php 5.2.6, Darwin 9.6 apache 2.0 handler on powermac

error when selecting import from Admin CP.

I have been testing the import process for two days, tonight when I am try to run the import again it takes forever and will eventually time out. I can't get to the place where I select the import system. I have uploaded the files for impex and that did nothing. How can I get this fixed so I can run the import process again.

I have a problem where my custom avatars are not displaying, I have ftp'd them to the new site the avatar location is fine and if i upload a new avatar is displays ok.

I have rebuilt the custom avatar thumbnails.

any ideas?

Attachments not working when converting from SMF2 to vB

Does anyone know of if this is a known issue? I realise SMF2 is only in RC stage right now, but Impex does offer it as an option...
When I run the import, everything works, except for the attachments. All it says is:

Source file not found :: [File-name]

[File-name] is a correct file name of an attachment in every case. So it obviously knows it's there. And the path is correct too. Both the SMF upload folder and the one for vB are CHMODed 777.

I've imporred my board phpBB 2 to vB 3.8.4 PL1.
I've imported attachments too.
Next, I've moved attachments from database to files system. When vB asked my "delete attachmets from database?", I sad: yes (300 per session). I've waited 2 hours (10 GB attachmets to delete) and what I see? ****! Attachments are in the database (and on the ftp sevrer). So I deleted attachments from database manually. And that was probably my mistake beacuse I can not see any attachment on my board now.
Can you explain my that?
Why attachments were not deleted from the database?

I understand that passwords cannot be migrated, but can someone advise what the system does in this case?
Are users prompted to change their passwords, do I need to create passwords and email them out or something? What's the correct methodology here for migrating users?

Wrong user accounts linking up on impex merge

Some of the imported user accounts are being displayed as incorrect existing users on the target forum. Why are there a handful of accounts doing this?

Some of the threads became merged as well coming data from the 2 different forums.

When trying to run Impex for the first time it asks for the customer number, I enter it and it says successful and then askes for it again. This is as far as gets, it just keeps looping back to prompting for the customer number.

I have edited the config file, left the target settings alone since it said it will use them from the install config and changed the sourceexists to false since Im importing from discus 4 pro which is file based.

What am I missing here, why does it keep prompting for the customer number.

Converting all phpbb3 *.file attacements to correct name + Extension

I used IMPEX to convert all my phpbb3 forum to vbulletin. All went perfectly okay, but the attachements failed.
The message couldnt find attachement jake.jpg or something similar.

My phpbb3 attachement path is domain.com/files and in there are all the files named 23457564j32w3j4io6j.file and so on.
I don't know that much about PHP but I've looked them up in the db and found the correct file names, simply renaming doesn't work as I assume something is going on when it runs through file.php to output the images.

Is there a script or something I need to do to ensure that these attachments come through to VB properly? As It's a lot of data i'd lose else.

I have run the impex tool for my conversion of IPB 2.x --VB3.8 and seem to keep having the same problem

When i go to my forums .. only the announcements and stickys are available, but the posts counts are all correct. (2K posts in offtopic but no threads are showing)

I'm trying to import MegaBBS 2.2 forum into VB 3.8. The import is succesfull as far as:

Support have now told me MS SQL support has been abandoned. The problem is I purchased the licence off the back of this import being available. :(

I messed up installing my original vBulletin site because I installed it in my Joomla database and some other applications as well. So l'm trying to cleanup before my move to vBulletin 4.0 by giving vBulletin its own database.

So my question is, I am using Impex and I am wondering, do I need to install all the Plugins/Apps before I import from the old one or can I run the import then install the plugins/apps to pull that imported data?

I'm trying to transfer phpbb3 to VB. Its saying to me:

If you have all red tables, i.e. none correct this could possible be your table prefix :

Failed Check database permissions and connection, or table prefix to ensure its correct

Does anybody know what this means? I didn't think I had a prefix. I checked my config file and couldn't find one:confused:

Today i merged two forums.

No real issues other than small minor things.

However on the imported forums when posting a new thread they are not showing up as the latest post within the forum but are showing as the latest via the home page.

By default, forums are displaying topics arranged alphabetically rather than by date. Again only on a forum thats been imported..not the forums that where existing.

Any help will be gratefully received.

Hi I want to use the impex to try and import Aspplayground 3.4, the version listed in Impex is 3.5 and although I seem to be able to connect to the source server which is an mssql database the importer says can't find many of the source files. I can see them in the database and have indicated the correct prefix for the source database.

I am looking to update my 3.7 license but not sure if the pricing when I login is correct. It seems more expensive that they email information I have gotten. What is the cheapest price for the upgrade to the 4.0 CMS? Sorry this part is off topic.

Avatars - only generic ones showing

Only the default avatar is showing for most people. When I converted the board (from phpBB 3) in test, they all showed the default one, but then I did something that made all the original (personally selected) avatars to render properly. I can't for the life of me remember what I did to fix it. I tried running "Rebuild avatar thumbnails", but that didn't fix it.

The only thing differently when I reran the import was that I specified the upload folder for the avatars. This seemed to work for just a few of the people who have uploaded their avatars (not everyone), but I hope this didn't screw up the avatars for the other 98% of people.

Any ideas/suggestions?
