I am having a heck of a time trying to find the congif file or any type of file that holds the database name, username, and password on IPB. I know this is an IPB question I should be asking at IPB.com, but I don't want to ask them there as I love it here :)

The IPB database that is being used has a password on of course, and I don't know it. I wanted to find it somewhere in the files through FTP as I can with vB in the config file. I need to back up the database so I can run test impex convertions. Can anyone that is fimilar with IPB let me know what the heck the config file is located so I can see the password used?

MY QUESTIONS ARE:

1. I don't want 'Publishing suite'. I just want '4.0 Forum'. So what are my options? Buy new license of '4.0 Forum'?

2. I am seeing version 3.8.x files in members area. If I didn't pay for them, why they are listed in my member area?

thanks.

Does anyone have any ideas?

The board is very stable when reverting to 3.6.6, but I can't even get anywhere near the 3.7.7 upgrade scripts due to this error - unless I press continue with the upgrade anyway - which of course will be waltzing into a minefield.......
