How do you hide the user groups to everyone?

I use miserable users and right now you can see who is in the miserable user group as well as who is admin/mods.

How do I hide it completely? Is there any easy way without having to add actual code?

xml syndication

I can find little to no information on how to use the xml content syndication feature of vbulletin. I have it enabled and would like to run this through Yahoo Pipes to several websites. I've long used the RSS feeds out to twitterfeed, etc, but would like something more rich.

How to see in info() that MySQLi is all enabled for vB?

Installing An Ebay RSS Link Feed?

Running VB 3.8.4. And spent the last half hour here searching the archives. No luck.

How do I install an Ebay RSS link feed? I would like to have it in the ad_footer_start template.

I have the code from Ebay. What do I need to add to it so that VBulletin picks it up and displays the live feed?

MySQL Error: Incorrect key file for table 'blog_usercss'

Tried backing up my database this morning and I'm getting the error below. Never had any trouble backing up before. Only changes made to the system since the last backup: Upgraded php (from 5.2.4 to 5.2.11) and mysql (from 4.1.22 to 5.1.37). Restoring the DB is not an option. IE: New users, Style, etc.

Repair table tool didn't fix it. Also, there are no records on the blog_usercss table.

What to do?

This is probably a bit basic, but not being too familiar with code etc, I do not know where to implement this. I am trying to insert the meta tag supplied by google to verify ownership. It is telling me to insert the meta tag:

Re-Setting Thread and Post Counters?

white page on archive links for unregistered visitors not registered ones

Dear vb community,

when I sign up to the forum then clik the archive links bottom of the forum, I can see the threads but when I visit with no log-on to the forum and clik the archive links then I see white page instead of archive threads. I am using vbSeo and I asked to the support of vbseo but they said me that the problem was related with vbulletin not vbseo. They are right because altough I disabled vbseo, the trouble was going on. Also I re-upload the archive folder to my host but nothing has been changed.

Any advise?

How to remove Administrator IP Address in "Currently Online"

For privacy purposes, does anyone know how to prevent an administrators IP from being displayed in the "Currently Online" section of the vbulletin forum so it is not visible to other users? I did not know where to go in to the admincp and change this and was uncertain whether or not this was possible to do at all. Any insight would be terrific. Thank you in advance.

How to restore the default template (without deleting a customized one)?

I created a customized (Forumhome) template. Now in the template history I got both: the default one and the customized one (the latter is the active now).
How can I switch to the default one (setting it again as "active"), without manually copying the original code in the customized template, or clicking the "revert" button in the Style Manager (by reverting to the default one, it seems that I permanently delete the customized template)? In a few words I would like to switch (the active status) between the templates.
Is there a way by which I can put a reminder comment in the customized template, without creating a further template in the "history"?

For example: Someone clicks the spanish flag below, and it'd redirect that person to a section of the forum titled "Spanish Section" Or something along those lines.

Forum Merging Question

OK I've got an issue, hopefully y'all can help me.

I've got a Vbulletin system running 3.8

I've come across another board, and we want to merge our two forums together.

I want their forum to be under its own section.

Their forum is a phpbb system

Is there any way to merge a phpbb into a current running vbulletin and have the phpbb threads and content to go into its own forum heading on my board?

Guests without attachment permissions: options other than broken image icon?

Guests viewing threads without permission to see attachments get a "broken image" icon in IE, and see nothing in Firefox. (That is, when the forum user has posted the attached image inline in their post.)

Is there an option to show some other default image to these guests? EG. an image encouraging them to register would be great.

I searched, but didn't have any luck turning up any other threads on this topic.

Vista users and xp using IE8 getting error message

Hello Vbulletin staff and everyone else,

I hope that you help resolve a problem that I and my forum members have been getting. For 36 hours or so people on XP using IE7 can get on but not IE8. Windows 7 and vista users cannot get on at all no matter what browser they use it seems.. They simply get this error message. "The service is unavailable." The error message that I am receiving in email says this. MySQL Error : Data too long for column 'useragent' at row 1
Error Number : 1406

My first thought is that my webhost has changed some setting which has made some change which is blocking certain user agents.

The other thought is that there has been some update from windows which has caused this. I have made no changes to my forum around the time this error occured.

Content Encoding Error

Hello, I am faced with an error that I cannot fix. Everytime I try to go to my forum (located at: http://forum.demonflyff.com/) I am faced with the following error: "Content Encoding Error. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

I'm using Firefox 3.5.5 and have been having this problem for the last week. I can't even get to my forum homepage, so I can't go into the Admin CP or anything.

Please, any help would be great.

Image Sizes In Posts

I have an issue and hopefully someone can give me a few tips/instructions.
This probably sounds like a stupid question....

Several times now we've had members post image URLs in a thread and the
images show up so huge they blow out the page parameters. We've enabled
the image upload w/thumbnails but occasionally someone will enter a URL from
Flicker or Photobucket instead.

Is there a setting that we can rachet down the size of the image when its done
this way? Id like a max size of approx half of a business card [2" x 2"] for URL
images.

Can someone tell me where this setting is and how to set it?

I have put correct db,password and username.
As I had to change all tables in previous installation to Uni code I Installed again forum files.
Need urgent reply as I did nto know that at the start I will have issues.

How to avoid error such us:
Step 2) Connect to the database
Attempting to attach to database
Error description: mysqli_real_connect() [function.mysqli-real-connect]: (28000/1045): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) /home/borelbs/public_html//forum/install/includes/class_core.php on line 1138
The database has failed to connect because you do not have permission to connect to the server. Please confirm the values entered in the 'includes/config.php' file.

Moved forum to new server

Hi , I am running my forum successfully. Now I wanted to upgrade to Vbulletin 4.0 and as it is the requirement for vbulletin 4.0; that PHP version should be 5.2.6 or newer, I have asked my host to move my forum (3.8.2) to new server, which has PHP 5.2.6. My host moved everything to new server. I have changed the the confiq.php with new details. Still I am not able to access my site on new server. Pls advise. Am I missing somthing?

If somebody uploads its Avatar it does not show up before I set the permission of this File via FTP to read. How can this be done automatically. Pictures are saved via File System not Database?

Set time/date correctly?

Hi,

I have just changed server for our forum, but now there seems to be a time/date problem.

One of the users descripes it this way:

"It was fine before the change but not since. I can get on the 'user CP' now, and I have made sure the time is for US, Eastern time, but the time that is shown for what my latest postings are, and the time for my last visit to the forums are way off. Any suggestions? Thanks. For instance, I was on around maybe 10am, we'll say, and it says that I last visited today at 7:23PM. the time on my computer is correct, btw."

What can I do to make time/date to work again? In Admin CP the time and date-option is set to "yesterday/today". Is this correct?
