How to know the actual page

Hi all! I want put some banner in the "ad_navbar_below" with some conditions, like I DON'T want show that banners only when a user are reading a theard/post and in intermediate pages when user post a message/theard, or when he log in and other intermediate pages that have direct reload page to another link

I've a strange problem ...

Index page of my forum e.g. http://forums.thewebhostingdir.com/ is not working ... however, all other forum pages like following one are working fine:

any idea what could be the reason for this?

banning question

hello.

I just banned a member and left a message for him. (so when he logs in , he see's that he's banned and the message as well)

but after that I also IP banned him.

So will he still see the ban message I left him...or does IP banning override that aspect ?

I have received about 15 of these Database error messages. What is the problem with my site? Can someone help ASAP? I am on aim one0one4life "0" is a zero. Please help because the site is EXTREMELY slow.

In the never ending road toward stupidity I have once again managed to screw things up.

First let me state that out of the blue a forum that seemed to be working perfectly for several months without a single change made to it in that time started reporting errors and wouldn't let anyone login to the forum.

My Solution was to delete everything from the ftp, edit config.php again, and then upload all new files. When I pointed my browser to the upgrade and entered my user number, everything seemed to go well since each step was given the OK by Vbulletin. After the upgrade was completed I came to the Control Panel Admin login. I entered my password and then receive this message.

Problem staying loggede in

I am assuming it's cookies that are the problem, but clearing them does not help.

Some users are forced to continue to log in each time they visit. This is since the board was upgraded to 3.8.3 but I couldn't find any info on the problem. Worked fine before upgrade.

i want to get rid of notes to be shown on my forum

as someone has add script inside that shows bad images in notes

Issue with "New Posts" feature

Good morning all,
Out new forum just went live and I've had various people state that the "New Posts" option isn't working for them. It does work perfectly for me as I'm a super-admin.

The error being reported is:

Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

I think it is something to do with the fact that I have an "Administration" section (Category of Administration with three sections within it) and which has "Can View Forum" and "Can View Thread Content" set to "No" for the usergroup that the regular users are members of.

Is my assumption correct? If not then what could be the cause of the issue, and more importantly, how to I rectify it without having to allow regular users to see the Administration section or it's sub items. I simply don't want them to know that section is there, so allowing them to view the forum but not the thread content isn't acceptable.

A quick view of Private Message Stats will show something like:

153 1 List users with 153 messages
44 2 List users with 44 messages

Clicking on list users reveals that "no users matched your query".
I've already ran the repair DB for PM's (several times). Short of flushing the entire DB of PM stats, how can I correct this issue?

BTW: this was an import from SMF, so may be impex issue, not sure.

Hi guys.

I've been having a problem recently with when you click on a link it would send it to forumdir/a/

I figured it was probably a vbseo issues but I've now disabled it and discovered something very alarming.

When I click on section forum on my site it will give a false url

So for example:

I have a forum called 'general discussion' and the url would be /forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10

But once you click on it in the address bar in both firefox and IE it displays the following:

http://www.mydomian.com/forum/wii/

some other examples are forum/original-xbox-games/ forum/ds-dsi/ etc

oh and also forum/a/

my site has NOTHING to do with consoles so I assume I have been hacked??!?!?!

Any help please!!!!!!

I am looking for ideas and options to assist it getting the forum emails through to our users. This has been an ongoing struggle and since a recent IP change has increased.

I am sure this is a common problem but are there any ways to improve it?

I try to update from VB 3.8.1 to 3.8.3 and i receive the error : the version you use 3.8.2 does not appear to be running the version that was downloaded 3.8.3

i search, search, and search again to finally found that the problem was very easy : It's because i use XCACHE

1/ why the upgrade doc of vbulletin don't have a BIG WARNING to ask us to disconnect XCACHE before to do an upgrade ?

2/ what other similar problem like this we can have with XCACHE ???

hidden forum - seen due to currently active users display

Hi :)

I want to set up a hidden forum - as part of my forum - I tried it last night but noticed though I had made it hidden and made it only accessible to me and a couple other people - that when I was in there anyone would be able to tell as I showed up in 'currently active users' section :(

I have taken it off again for the moment as I don't want the other users on my site knowing about the 'secret section' - at the same time I don't want to take away the currently active users details either - but is there a way I can have it not show for when/if we are in the secret section? - like maybe it can just come up as / or something? - Is there an option to tick somewhere?

Clearly, this is super low priority, but we have some users who want to find their own first post.

Because of server limits, we do not have searching enabled to allow more than 500 results, so is there some way that they can do this?

strange problem in IE

Iam using Vbulltein 3.8.2 form last 2 months it was working fine suddenly
iam getting a strange problem in internet explorer when ever i use IE to login into my forum with the credentials after i login still i can see that iam not logged in but i can see in current active users that iam logged in but in forums right side i can see iam still a guest user whats the issue its working in firefox and chrome

Where to change the default text color of posts?

On the view thread/view post page, all the post text color detaults to black. I have tried to change a few variables on the font color in style admin, but couldn't get it changed.

Usergroups Multiple User Title Lists

I would like to suggest adding multiple User Title lists to vB. By this I mean, I would like to be able to add User Title list A, B, C, ect. Then, when I create a new Usergroup, I can assign which User Title list that group will use.

For example, if I have a forum about a World War II gaming system, I could have users request to join the Usergroups "Allied" and "Axis". Usergroup "Allied" would use User Title list A with titles like Captain, Major and Colonel. Usergroup "Axis" would use list B and have titles like Hauptmann, Major, and Oberst.

I can think of quite a few subject forums that could benefit from this.

Navbar dropdown menu

How do I make this menu box line up with the title?

The front of the box should line up with the 'G' in Galleries--- all of the other stock dropdown menus do this.
How do I add permissions to it, or rather what I'm asking is, make it disappear when you log out, as "quick links" and "community" do

Moving installation folder from original install

I installed my forums in the root directory "/" but I want to move it into a "/forums" directory. I just upgraded to 3.8.3 but I'm wondering how to do this without losing the database or anything else such as the skins and what not.

How to edit Template

I have bought vBulletin and installed it on my website not long ago. I need my template edited by tomorrow morning (24 hours from now). I need a simple logo in the top-left corner, and perhaps some icons changed to spice up the forums a bit.
