I originally got involved with vBulletin as one of the initial beta testers, way back in March/April 2000. I started writing some modifications for the vB 1.1 series (the member list and the PM system came from my code originally), and at the end of 2000, I was brought on to help with development of vB 2.0. Aside from a short period where I focused on my university studies, I've been involved in vB's development since then. Many of you probably know that I even relocated from the US to the UK 3 years ago to work with Kier, Scott, and Ashley in person.

However, I've decided that it's time for me to move on and pursue other goals.

I'd like to thank Jelsoft for giving me the opportunity to work on vBulletin. Generally, it's been a good 9 years. I've learned more things in that time than I could have imagined, and being able to see my work all over the internet in the shape of your websites is a very cool feeling indeed.

I'm sure you'll still be able to find me online. I try to stay involved with the PHP community, and a few vB'ers have already found me on Twitter... though I should get more involved with both.

So to borrow a famous line, so long and thanks for all the fish.

I thought the office was a bit quiet today and I guess this means I'll have to make my own coffee from now on.

Best of luck for the next projects you work on and thanks for all you've done with vBulletin over the years.

Or in some complex and bizarre conspiracy Internet Brands are slowly pushing out the old developers in favour of moving development to their place in the US to save costs and possibly save the world?

Good luck in the future Mike. It's been a pleasure working with you for the past year; you were my go to person for all things vB.

The office isn't the same today.

2 developers gone in 2 weeks, very sad. Does this mean a delay for vb 4.0?

    All the best, mike.

Dear Mike, I am very happy that I have been able to meet you during the company Jelsoft drinki-- dinner party, together with Kier and Scott, Howard and the rest, some years ago.

It is a huge shame to see you leave. The core of what we know as vBulletin 3.x is part thanks to you. It won't be the same from three point six onwards.

Thank you for saying goodbye to the community.

I sure do hope our paths will cross again in the future.

Best of luck with everything in your future,

    your colleague and friend,

    Floris.

I'm very sorry to lose you here. You was one of the more important developers about vBulletin.

Project Tools was a great product with a lower bugs inside. I hope it will continue to be like you have done this work. I liked too to "work" with you for the private beta about it.

I hope your future road will be as good as the last 9 years.
