vBulletin 3.7.5 Scheduled Release: January 6th

Normally, the scheduled release date for 3.7.5 would be December 30th (last Tuesday of the month). However, given that this is in the middle of the holidays, we will be delaying the release of 3.7.5 until Tuesday, January 6th 2009, one week after the normally scheduled date.

3.7.5 is simply a bug fix/maintenance release. No new features have been added. If you're looking for new features, vBulletin 3.8 is where to look.

As you releasing vB 3.8 RC2, if you expect the gold release, do you release it on December 30th or January 6th too?

The initial release of a whole new version likely wouldn't follow the maintenance release cycle, though it would fall inline with it afterwards.

While I'd expect 3.8 to go gold around the same time as 3.7.5, we'll have to see what happens. If we are intending on releasing 3.8 gold at a similar time as 3.7.5, we will let you know that before (or when) we put out 3.7.5. Last thing we want is for you to upgrade to 3.7.5 only to upgrade again in a couple days.

Its reasonable and I hope nobody has to fiddle around with his forum or server between christmas and new year. All time for the family.

Hard to have the company resources available to support a holiday release as a lot of people are taking time off to be with their families. Several people have to travel extensively to be home with family at this time of year.
